John Dillman manages the fast-paced Houston bankruptcy division, providing nationwide representation to all clients served in the region. His expertise in the area of bankruptcy has generated millions of dollars in ad valorem tax collections for the firm’s clients. He has earned the respect of his peers in the field and has handled the firm’s more arcane and complex bankruptcy cases to protect our client’s interests.

Mr. Dillman attended Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, receiving his Bachelor of Arts in English with honors in 1987. He earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1991, graduating in the top quarter of his class. He gained extensive negotiation experience and co-authored Texas legislation allowing appeals of denied motions for summary judgment.

In addition to extensive trial court experience, Mr. Dillman has an unbroken record of appellate wins, including In re Superior Oilfield Products (97-20317), In re Universal Seismic (01-20456) and In re Hinsley (01-21175) in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and In re CM Reed Almeda (NV16-1173) in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Bankruptcy Appellate Panel.

He strongly supports the greater Houston community and dedicates his time to several organizations.
