Tara Grundemeier provides strategic advice, planning, and nationwide representation for the Firm’s clients in bankruptcy and insolvency matters. She has extensive experience litigating ad valorem tax issues in the country’s largest and most complex chapter 11 cases, generating millions of dollars in property tax collections for the Firm’s clients. She is a trusted advocate in the area of property taxation as it relates to corporate reorganizations and liquidations, bankruptcy litigation, and creditor’s rights.   Ms. Grundemeier additionally serves on the Firm’s Benefits Committee and the Litigation and Legal Standards Committee

In the realm of professional affiliations, Ms. Grundemeier serves on the Board of Directors for the Houston Bar Association Auxiliary and the States’ Association of Bankruptcy Attorneys. She is a member of several professional organizations including the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation and the Houston Bar Association. Her distinction as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Houston Bar Foundation is coupled with the honor of receiving the Houston Bar Association’s President’s Award in recognition of her contributions to local literacy programs.

Ms. Grundemeier earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Houston. She pursued her legal education at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, graduating magna cum laude with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree.

In tandem with her legal pursuits, Ms. Grundemeier is actively involved in literacy and wildlife conservation initiatives on both local and international fronts.
