LaVonda Russell

LaVonda Russell provides litigation and client support from the firm’s Dallas office, bringing years of experience across the legal profession and the financial services industry.

Ms. Russell graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Business. After graduating, she entered into a career in the financial services industry for a number of years before beginning law school.

She graduated Cum Laude from Texas Southern Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2014 with her Doctor of Jurisprudence and later attended and graduated with her LL.M. from American University Washington School of Law in 2015. She is licensed in Texas, Washington D.C., and the United States District Court of the Northern District of Texas.

Shortly after returning to Dallas, she opened the Law Office of LaVonda Russell, where she practiced in probate, estate planning, and consumer law. Since opening her practice, she has been an active member of the Dallas Bar Association, the J. L. Turner Legal Association, and has been a board member of the J.L. Turner Legal Association Foundation since 2019. Ms. Russell has also previously served as the Legislative Director for a Texas State Representative. LaVonda is active in her community volunteering with a variety of local organizations and non-profits.

Daniel Bearden, Jr.

Daniel Bearden brings over 33 years of experience in all aspects of ad valorem tax collection to our North Texas clients. Mr. Bearden handles all aspects of delinquent property tax collections, from working out payment agreements with taxpayers to preparing suits for filing, managing cases in litigation, and assisting with tax foreclosure sales. He also assists with client needs for the Cities of Wilmer, Hutchins, and Balch Springs.

Before coming to the firm, Mr. Bearden worked for the Law Offices of Earl Luna, P.C., and its successor, The Law Offices of Robert E. Luna, for 27 years collecting delinquent ad valorem property taxes in State Court and in Federal Bankruptcy Courts.

Active at his local church, Mr. Bearden frequently volunteers for their charitable initiatives.

Mr. Bearden was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1990. He is licensed to practice before all Texas and the U.S. District Courts, Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.

Mr. Bearden received his Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1989. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1986.

Camille Stecker

Camille Stecker reviews pleadings regarding documents in bankruptcy matters, prepares files for confirmation hearings, attends confirmation hearings and 341 hearings, and reviews dockets for resolution of contested matters set for hearings. She joined the firm in 2021.

Ms. Stecker was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2022 and is also admitted to practice before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Texas. She is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, and achieved the Society of Legal Scholars, Texas Bar College, 2023. 

JJ Wells

As Director of Linebarger’s Homestead Exemption Analysis department, Mr. Wells combines tax role expertise with legal experience to manage the discovery and recapture of underpayments of property taxes for the firm’s public-sector clients.

Mr. Wells was promoted to the Homestead Exemption Analysis (HEA) team as Director in 2024. Since joining the firm in November 2021, Mr. Wells has provided litigation support to clients in Hays and Caldwell counties.

Originally from Pleasanton, Texas, Mr. Wells attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning his undergraduate degree in Journalism. In 2009, he enrolled in the Texas Tech School of Law and became a licensed attorney in 2012.

Mr. Wells began his career as a title examiner in Midland before relocating to central Texas. He worked in private practice based in San Marcos and then Luling before joining the Caldwell County District Attorney’s Office. His time at the DA’s office was initially as a prosecutor and later as the sole attorney dedicated to non-criminal County matters and the primary legal resource for the Caldwell County Commissioners Court.
