Linebarger Managing Partner Named Vice Chair of the United Way of Tarrant County

Managing Partner Barbara Williams of Linebarger’s Fort Worth office and Management Committee Member, has been named vice chair of the United Way of Tarrant County. Steve Bobb was named chair of its board of directors. Six new board members were also appointed.

Ms. Williams has served on the UWTC board for four years and has been an active member of the United Way for many years before joining the board, working with community groups that support the education of girls and women.

“It’s an honor to be named vice chair of the UWTC, which has been supporting our community for more than 100 years,” says Ms. Williams. “The work that the United Way does has a lasting impact on the way we educate and care for our neighbors.”

UWTC served more than 400,000 Tarrant County residents last year through programs that support community health and education, including distributing books to preschoolers and supporting aging residents.

In addition to her work with UWTC, Ms. Williams serves as a board member of Women Steering Business, has chaired Girls Inc., Tarrant County, Women’s Policy Forum, and Fort Worth SPARC. She has served on the board of SafeHaven, the Board of Trustees of Albany ISD, and worked as a judge for Arlington Teen Court.

Ms. Williams joined Linebarger in 1998 and chairs the firm’s client relations subcommittee. She has served as a city attorney for Crowley and interim city attorney for White Settlement.
