Fort Worth Capital Partner Named Top Attorney

Linebarger is pleased to announce the selection of Capital Partner Corey Fickes by Fort Worth Magazine as one of the region’s Top Attorneys for 2024. The annual list recognizes Tarrant County licensed attorneys in several of practice areas. Mr. Fickes was selected for his expertise in tax law.

Mr. Fickes serves as a member of Linebarger’s Management Committee, comprised of 12 senior partners, who oversee the firm’s strategic direction, operations, and key decision-making.

Mr. Fickes joined Linebarger in 2010 with experience in municipal law, including municipal court prosecution, defense litigation for municipalities, and delinquent tax collection. His career at Linebarger has focused on fines and fees collections for municipal and justice courts and delinquent ad valorem collections.

Mr. Fickes is a sought-after speaker in the area of tax law, previously teaching courses for North Texas Chapter of Municipal Court Clerks, Government Finance Officers Association of Texas, and the North Texas Chapter of the Texas Association of Assessing Officers. He has taught courses on the impact of the Ferguson, Missouri, Investigation by the Department of Justice, court collection basics, Collection of Vehicle Inventory Taxes, Mobile Home Homestead Exemptions, applicability of Rule 12 provisions for open records, and a Mock Jury Trial class.

Prior to joining Linebarger, Mr. Fickes served as a Commissioner on the Fort Worth Appeals Board for the City of Fort Worth, as a board member for the Keller ISD Education Foundation from 2012–2015, on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Tarrant County, where he served as Governance Committee Chair and Chair of the Education Counsel. Mr. Fickes has also served as a Deacon at University Christian Church where he and his family have been active members since 2010.  He currently sits as a board member on the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD Education Foundation, and the Northeast Tarrant Chamber.  Mr. Fickes also serves as Cubmaster to his son’s Cub Scout pack.
